ABOUT ROCCO PLACENTINO
Known for speed and hard-left kick, Rocco Placentino was born on February 25, 1982, in Montreal, Canada. He is currently the Technical Director for CS Saint-Laurent, one of Canada’s fastest-growing clubs. This position followed a successful international professional soccer career spanning from 2002 to 2011. As well, Placentino enjoyed the experience of being capped by Canada’s National Team at the U-20, U-23 and Senior levels.
Following two seasons playing for his hometown squad, the Montreal Impact FC, Placentino spent the next five years playing for clubs in Italy, including Avellino, Teramo, Cavese, Gualdo, Massese and Gubbio. In 2008, he returned to his hometown club before returning to Italy for the 2010 season by playing for Perugia.
Placentino enjoyed much-winning success having been a part of three Championship squads: Avellino 2003, Montreal Impact 2009 and Perugia 2011. He retired from professional soccer on a high following Perugia’s 2011 championship season.
Today, Placentino resides in Laval, Quebec and enjoys life with his wife and their two young children. He takes great pleasure at sharing his wisdom with young footballers. He is extremely approachable and generous with his time. He can found most evenings and weekends on the pitch.
