  • Program: 12-week program, twice per week, 60 minutes per session
  • Location: Marcel-Laurin Park – Exterior. Field numbers will follow before the start of the season
  • Included: One of each: jersey, shorts, socks, ball, backpack, award, and lunch during the end of year festival
  • Not included: Soccer shoes with cleats and shin guards are mandatory. Requires to be purchased by the participant. Running shoes are not permitted due to safety and injury reasons.

Active Start Program Description

The CDC 2 Active Start U4-U6 & the Fundamental U7-U8 programs are opened to boys and girls without experience and grouped by birth year & gender.
The 12-week summer program includes two sessions per week, from June to August, one hour per session, between 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm for ages U4-U6 and 7:15 pm – 8:15 pm for ages U7 – U8 from Monday-Friday. Volunteered parents & trained staff educators rotate the workshops designed to improve the participant’s physical literacy and motor development skills.  The first 40 minutes per session consists of fun and exciting training drills followed by a friendly game match amongst the group. The CDC “Active Start” meets the requirements of the new development standards put in place by the Canadian Soccer Association.

In order to determine the participant’s age category during registration is by subtracting the present year from the participant’s birth year. Example: 2022 minus the participant’s birth year 2018 is category U4.

 

Information Concerning Registrations & Deadline

Upon registering in-person or online participants are automatically categorized according to their year of birth. If registering with the club for the first time in-person, a *proof of the participant’s complete name and year of birth is required. If registering online for the first time with the club as a “New Member”  a *proof of the Medicare Card or a legitimate document identifying their complete name and year of birth requires to be e-mailed at clubstlaurent@soccerstl.ca to finalize the registration. A picture of the participant or the soccer passport is not required. Registrations are either online or in-person at Saint-Laurent Soccer Complex during office hours. $50.00 late fee will apply after the deadline date indicated during the registration period. If The Participant Is Registered In a Different Club & Wants to Register With Saint-Laurent Soccer Club (STL)

The participant is required to be released from their previous club before registering with STL. Contact the previous club for releasing the participant.

Included In The Registration Fees – Uniforms +

Included in the registration is one of each of the following items: jersey, shorts, socks, back bag, ball, award, and lunch during the end-of-year festival. Participants will be advised and instructed by e-mail in May when the uniforms are ready for pick up. Taxes, program, and affiliation fees are included in the registration fees. Credit card payment service charges are additional. Approximately 2 % extra.

 

Not Included In The Registration Fees – Shoes & Shin Guards +

The participants are obligated to supply the exterior soccer shoes with cleats and shin guards. Running shoes are not permitted due to safety and injury reasons. Note: shin guards are worn underneath the socks. Credit card payment service charges are additional. Approximately 2 % extra.

 

Schedule, Dates, & Time 

The program starts at the end of May through August for 12 weeks, two nights per week from Monday-Friday, one hour per session. The hours are from 18h00-19h00 or 19h15-21h15. The schedules are forwarded by e-mail by May.

Participants Wanting To Be In The Same Group As Their Friends

Participants can be added to the same group providing the participants have the same year of birth. Email your request at teams@soccerstl.ca

 

Cancellations 

Cancellations due to climate-related reasons, rain, thunderstorms, lightning, flooded fields, field closures, etc. may occur during the season and are announced through the website www.soccerstl.ca or by e-mail. Cancellations are not rescheduled, refunded, or credited.

Terms Of Payment -Taxes Included

Visa, Master Card & Debit are accepted. No cash is accepted! Credit card payment service charges are additional. Approximately 2 % extra.

 

Credits

In-person registrations during office hours are required in order to apply a credit.

No discounts are applicable for registering siblings.

Safety & Health Precautions

In order to prevent injuries we ask for the following: soccer shoes with cleats and shin guards are mandatory for each game. No running shoes or jewelry is permitted. Double knotted shoelaces are advised and long hair requires to be tied. Players with symptoms such as fever, coughing, vomiting, or a contagious illness are not be allowed to attend their sessions.

 

Refund & Credit Policy 

Canceled matches due to rain, bad weather, or poor field conditions are not rescheduled or refunded. No refunds are granted due to absenteeism, injuries, isolation, conflicts with other activities, or moving to a different suburb, city, province, or country. $75.00 service fee per participant applies if a refund is accepted. Refunds require to be handwritten using the Refund & Credit Policy and submitted by e-mail. Credit may apply if a refund is not accepted. Credit notes can be applied within one year towards a different program. Refunds are issued by check and require 6-8-weeks delivery.
